PLAYER PATHWAY

There should always be a next step.

From juniors to Division 1, Pirates already has players who have grown up through the club. Experienced seniors also help train the next generation — a pathway we want to strengthen.

01

First stick

Try the sport, learn how the equipment works and get comfortable on court.

02

Learn & play

Build the core skills: control, passing, movement, decision-making and game awareness.

03

Junior competition

Put those skills into games with teammates at a suitable age and development stage.

04

Youth development

Bridge the gap between junior floorball and the physical, tactical and social demands of senior competition.

05

Senior divisions

Find the level that matches your current game and keep developing through regular training and competition.

06

Higher competition

For players who want it, stronger divisions and representative opportunities can become the next challenge.

07

Coach & mentor

Development comes full circle when experienced Pirates help the next group of players start and improve.

A REAL WAY IN

Field hockey can turn into floorball surprisingly quickly.

One real pathway into the sport began after 10 years of field hockey, then moved through university floorball and into long-term club play. The movement, passing and stick instincts carried across; the indoor setting and lighter equipment made it easy to keep playing.

We will keep adding verified Pirates pathways here as the club collects them — especially junior-to-senior development stories.
