Does your child want to play floorball, but doesn’t have a team or other children to play with? You’re not the only family looking. Perth Pirates is gathering interest from parents and young players who want a low-pressure place to have a hit, meet others and enjoy floorball.
Bring yourself. We’ll help bring players together.
We’re building a group for informal junior floorball play on Saturdays. The idea is simple: plenty of sticks and balls, casual passing and shooting, and small-sided games when enough appropriately matched players attend. There is no requirement to organise a team, register for a season or already be a Pirates player.
- For interested junior players, from first-timers to children who’ve played before
- Come with a parent or guardian; players will be grouped or activities adapted to ages, numbers and experience
- Equipment may be available to borrow — check with the organiser before attending
- We are currently gathering interest; session times, suitability, availability and any costs must be confirmed before you travel
Tell us who wants to play
To help us find players of similar ages and interests, please include the following in the Details box of the enquiry form:
- Your child’s age or age group (no child’s full name needed)
- Whether they’re new to floorball or have played before
- Whether you’re interested in casual Saturday play, future social games, or both
- Which Saturdays or general time of day might work for your family
Please enter the parent or guardian’s name and contact email in the form, not a child’s details. Submitting interest is not a booking or a promise of a place; we’ll contact you as plans develop.
Junior Social Floorball — Expression of Interest
We’ll use the information to respond and help organise potential playing opportunities. Please see our privacy policy. For existing organised teams and training enquiries, visit Join Pirates.
What’s the difference between this and First Stick?
First Stick is aimed at trying floorball and learning the basics. Junior Social Floorball is for children who want more opportunities to play with other kids, whether or not they already know the sport. At the beginning, these may share an informal Saturday setting, depending on attendance and supervision.
Frequently asked questions
Does my child need to bring a team?
No. The purpose is to bring interested individuals together, rather than asking parents to find an entire team themselves.
Are Saturday sessions definitely running?
We’re arranging casual opportunities and building the list of interested families. Please enquire first so we can confirm a suitable time and available supervision before attending.
Is this a competition or regular league?
Not yet. The initial focus is informal play and meeting others. A more structured social competition is a possibility if we find enough regular players and a suitable venue.
Can an eight-year-old or thirteen-year-old take part?
Families with children of different ages are welcome to enquire. Participation and activities depend on appropriate age and skill matching, safeguarding, supervision and space; children of different ages won’t automatically play competitive games together.
Where would we play?
We are exploring Saturday casual play with Floorball Culture in Welshpool and suitable larger courts for future games. Exact venue and session arrangements are confirmed directly with families.
